Diana Torres

MSN, APRN, FNP-C - DNP Candidate

Master of Science in Nursing, Advanced Practice Registered Nurse, Family Nurse Practitioner Certified, Doctor of Nursing Practice Candidate

Dr. Diana Torres is a South Texas native and an experienced family nurse practitioner serving Laredo and the surrounding region. With more than 15 years of clinical practice, Diana specializes in emergency medicine, trauma, critical care, urgent care, and occupational health — bringing calm leadership and advanced skills to high-pressure situations.

Diana earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (2007) and Master of Science in Nursing (2018) from Texas A&M International University in Laredo. She is currently a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) candidate at UT Health San Antonio, with graduation expected in December 2025 — a milestone that will place her among a small percentage of Latinas holding a clinical doctorate in nursing.

Her clinical background includes roles in Level I trauma centers and service as a flight nurse and charge trauma nurse, where she led numerous lifesaving responses for patients across the lifespan. Diana pairs that front-line experience with a strong commitment to teaching: she has taught critical care topics at the university level and serves as a clinical preceptor for nursing and paramedic trainees.

Diana is also a certified Stop the Bleed instructor, training first responders, school staff, and community groups in hemorrhage control and other lifesaving interventions.

She contributes to research and quality improvement initiatives, has presented at academic venues, and holds honors and recognitions that reflect both clinical excellence and leadership. Diana is a proud member of the professional nursing community and is committed to improving patient outcomes through evidence-based practice.

Outside of work, Diana treasures time with her husband, family, and their three dogs. She values mentoring the next generation of clinicians and serving the Laredo community with integrity and compassion.
